It's the afterwork special! Because we all need a few days to plan, I want to post volunteer opportunities for the upcoming weekend on...Wednesday. The first volunteer opportunity (and offered on several weekends) supports an effort which is very important to me and to the goals of the Shalom House. This week, I'm featuring the Boston Healthcare for the Homeless Program.
The BHCHP is looking for volunteers to help run fun, interactive, and engaging activities for adults experiencing homelessness staying in BHCHP's medical respite facility, the Barbara McInnis House. Examples of activities include arts & crafts, cookie decorating, board games, bingo, Wii, computer training and movies! Volunteers need to be comfortable working with adults experiencing homelessness in a hospital setting!
This volunteer opportunity is reserved for Boston Cares members who have attended an Orientation. If you haven't joined, you may apply HERE
Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program Mission Statement:
